Universal Studios is located just five minutes from the house we are staying at – it was nice not to have to drive an extended distance to get somewhere.
Universal studios is interesting in that all these productions have to work around the amusement park. I guess if you sign on to be an actor or produce shows for NBC / Universal, you just have to expect it goes with the territory.

We also went to the back of the property and checked out some other famous TV Houses.
The first one was originally the “Munsters” house but has since been remodelled. The next one is from the TV show Desperate Housewives.
Worlds Largest Greenscreen
Check out the Google Earth view of the greenscreen area (which is blue in the photo – also notice they have filled the area with water – they shot Pirates of the Carribean with this set-up). To the right you can see Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds” plane crash. Very realistic from the satalite and right next to that is the “Bates House” from the movie “PSYCHO”.
